What a fantastic campaign launch last night!! There was so much positive energy in the room - which inspired everyone for the final couple of weeks. Thanks to Clare O'Neil MP for being the guest speaker. Clare gave a powerful speech on the Labor agenda, focusing on housing. It was a reminder of why it is so important that the Albanese government is returned. It was wonderful to have Katie Hall MP and Lizzie Blandthorn, amazing members here in the west, to also deliver speeches. Also present were a number of my Federal colleagues and candidates whose presence I greatly appreciated, Cassandra Fernando MP, Senator Raff Ciccone, Alice Jordan-Baird - Labor for Gorton, Jo Briskey, Matt Gregg - Labor for Deakin. And great to have so many other important local state and local representatives: Ingrid Stitt MP, Iwan Walters MP, Enver Erdogan MP, Pradeep Tiwari - Maribyrnong City Councillor, Katharine Nikolic, Susan Yengi for Maribyrnong City Council - River Ward, Cr Daniel Kruk - Brimbank City Council. Just as importantly, there were so many dedicated volunteers in attendance - the heart and soul of the campaign. I was also grateful that so many leaders from multicultural communities, leading sporting clubs and not for profit organisations were in attendance. It added greatly to the event. Our campaign has been working hard for some time now. Last night was a tribute and thank you to that effort - and also a reminder of the importance of the final two weeks.
