Pleased to see the Albanese Government secure 250,000 tonnes of additional fertiliser from Indonesia on the PM’s trip last week.
There is a fertiliser supply and rising cost issue confronting our farmers and the NSW Government is working closely with the Albanese Government.
This week I’m attending a meeting of all Agriculture Ministers from the states territories and the Commonwealth. Fertiliser and diesel are both front and centre for all the Ministers to discuss and progress practical solutions.
The NSW Government is focused on how we can support farmers while they make business and operational decisions at this challenging time.
We have Local Land Services and Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development frontline teams out on the ground assisting and supporting farmers.
Workshops will be delivered to help farmers come together and make informed decisions for their operations, for example in:
• Hunter -- ‘Livestock Roadshow: Managing for a tight winter’
• South East -- ‘Managing seasonal variability – outlook for winter’
• Murray -- ‘Farm business management: looking deeper for profit and production’
