I’m thrilled to be continuing as your Greens spokesperson for Early Childhood Education and Care. We’ve already pushed Labor to scrap the activity test for three days a week, now we need to keep working for free, universal early childhood education for all kids! As an environmental lawyer and someone who grew up in the regions, I’ve spent so much of my life advocating for a safe climate future, so I’m thrilled to be picking up the resources portfolio as well as becoming the Greens assistant spokesperson for climate and energy. We’re heading into the most critical years for climate action and there’s no time to waste. I’m also picking up the democracy portfolio which closely links to Australia’s lack of action on climate. Dodgy corporate donations have no place in a healthy democracy. Politicians should work for outcomes that make life better for the people they represent, not for big corporate donors. Peter Whish-Wilson will be taking the lead on science and innovation. It’s been a pleasure working in this space and I know Pete will do a fantastic job as our new spokesperson. Let’s get to work!
