597. Hon Simon Ehrenfeldto theparliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to emergency presentations at Western Australian state hospitals.
(1) For each of the past eight years, by year, how many presentations to Western Australian public hospital emergency departments have been reported for assault related injuries when family and domestic violence was identified as the primary cause?
(2) For each of the past eight years, by year, how many suspected family and domestic violence cases presenting to hospital emergency departments were referred to:
(a) the Western Australia Police Force; and
(b) family and domestic violence support services, including social workers?
The President: Honourable member, you are seeking data going back eight years and that may or may not be available.
Hon Simon Ehrenfeld: Sorry.
The President: It may or may not be available and is not really determined as being considered concise. I am going to put the question to the parliamentary secretary, and if you are able to get an answer, good luck. The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Health.
Hon Pierre Yang replied:
Thank you, President. I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The following has been provided by the Minister for Health. As the member has requested almost a decade of data, we request that the member please put the question on notice.
