Thank you to everyone who contributed to our first election campaign. It was a great effort. For a party that was only registered 5 months ago, to get the votes we did was an exceptional result. Everyone should be very proud of themselves. I am incredibly grateful for the commitment of our volunteers and candidates. In regard to my own Senate race, after 28.4% of the votes being counted, I have received 5% of the votes counted. This means I need to rely on preferences to overtake One Nation who have 7.2% of the vote. While not impossible, it will be difficult to narrow the gap. The distribution of preferences won’t occur for a few more weeks while votes are being scrutinised and entered into the AEC computers for processing. I will put up a post tomorrow asking for volunteers who wish to scrutineer. Scrutineering will begin Tuesday afternoon in Brisbane. Details to come. Thanks again to everyone for your support. I really appreciate it and hope you are getting a well earned rest.
